The Funkisphere is shaken again with the loss of  Keyboardist, Songwriter, Record Producer, and Vocalist, Dexter Wansel.

Born in Philadelphia, he started his career running errands at the Iconic  Uptown Theater and later played un various local bands in the city.

After serving in the Army getting an Honorable discharge he found himself at Philadelphia International Records where his contributions were numerous.

He wrote Songs and Produced hits for Teddy Pedngrass, Patti Labelle, Lou Rawls,        The Stylistics, The Jones Girls and others.

He also recorded four solo records that were well received by critics and built a loyal and dedicated legion of fans.

Wansel was at the forefront in his use of Synthesizers which set him apart from other Artists on the roster creating Spacy and Futuristic Soundscapes.
